First - I want to say that Nanette tagged me for a meme! Whoo hoo! Is it completely lame that I feel really special? I'm a little pressed for time so I won't be answering it today, but I'll totally answer it tomorrow although I don't really know 7 other bloggers to tag. I've only got Gerard and Ryan. Friends - if you are reading this post, start a blog! Seriously, I *love* reading them. Eric - I'm talking to you. I think you would have the funniest blog of all. You could totally blog about life as a new dad. Do it! DO IT! And Jamie - hello? You're my little social butterfly. Please blog. Thank you.
Now back to my weekend recap. I left it off complaining about the photographer sneeking in an extra $500 cost. Oh and our very bizarre DVD. After our meeting with the photog, we hung out at Theresa's pool for awhile. The Mr. and I are pool whores. We live in the city and there aren't any pools around here (I'm not counting the public pool at the park... its a wee bit sketchy. I'm afraid of stepping on a hypodermic needle). If you own a pool or have a pool in your apartment complex, call us! Let's hang!
Later that evening, we went out to eat at Nacho Mamma's (I freaking love this place) and didn't really do much afterwards. We had gotten up at 6:30am so we were pooped. So, we called it a night. Wow, we're party people, right?
Sunday I designated the day for us to unpack and put away all wedding gifts. The massive pile in the corner of the basement was driving me crazy. We also went to Crate and Barrel and purchased some stuff off of our registry since we had a 10% coupon. Sunday felt like the longest day of my life but here is what we accomplished:
1. Returned some wedding gifts that we deemed as "not really needed" because of space (i.e. a 9-cup food processor. While it was lovely and we did register for it, in reality our house is small... we don't have a lot of storage and reasoned that we probably wouldn't need a 9-cup processor anytime soon).
2. Quenched my bizarre craving for a Fiesta Pollo Salad from Red Robin (without the chicken, of course). There is a Red Robin down the street from my office where I sometimes eat lunch but its not often so this craving was strange but it had to be quenched!
3. Purchased items off of our registry from Crate and Barrel. Okay, this was such a pain in the ass. First - the 10% coupon was a one time use only so there was some pressure to buy a lot of things. At the same time - there were many items that I just couldn't justify spending that much for (but wouldn't have minded them as a gift - *hint* hint* to those that STILL have not gotten us gifts). And this is why The Mr. hates shopping with me. Anywho - it took forever, the salesperson grabbed all the wrong stuff from the back and we didn't leave with as much stuff as I thought we would (but that's probably a good thing...).
4. Reorganized the kitchen cabinets. I honestly feel cleansed. I hate disorder.
5. Unpacked ALL of the wedding gifts. This was a ridiculous task. We had to get rid of old appliances to make room for new ones (and I finally let my brave little toaster go). We discovered that Crate and Barrel f'ed up an order though. Someone had purchased us 4 items (listed on the receipt) but the 4th item wasn't in the box. There was some weird plate thing in there instead. Now I have to call and complain. Crate and Barrel... you make it hard to love you.
*Sorry - being pressed for time, I'm not uploading any pictures.*
