So - The Mr. and I have talked a lot about the renovations we want to do to our house. We even refinanced our house to get some moolah back so that we could do these so-called renovations. We finally have the money and we're both kind of scratching our heads like, "Where do we start?" Its a bit overwhelming.
We want to do the following things to our house (its not much):
1. Get a dishwasher
2. In order for #1 to work, we have to get a new sink and a new base cabinet so that a dishwasher will fit
3. New countertop (granite!)
4. New kitchen floor tiles (travertine)
5. New tile backsplash
6. Hardwood floors in living room and dining room (bamboo... we're going green!)
7. Possibly expose the brick wall going up the stairwell
If we did #7, we'd have to do it first because its a HUGE mess and then we'd have to hire an electrician to reroute some of the electrical outlets. Oy! See? Overwhelming, right? We're going to look at a dishwasher this weekend and I guess we'll go from there.
Oh and for those of you DYING to know - I hand washed my armband and it seemed to work. Next time, I'm just throwing it in the wash. I have one of those little laundry bags meant for "delicates". I still can't believe I was the smelly girl at the gym. Gross.
Tonight we're meeting up with Ian and Katie for dinner at Sushi Sono. Whoo hoo! We haven't really hung out with these guys in... hhhmmm... not counting the wedding because we really only chatted for a little bit... hhmmm... a year? Actually, longer for me. I haven't really seen these guys since we first moved into our house 2 YEARS AGO. Wow - I'm not so good about keeping in touch. Looking forward to dinner though!
And tomorrow is our annual Bocce Ball tournament in Patterson Park. We did this last year but apparently you can't grill and drink alcohol in a public park without a permit. Who knew? Our little tournament ended rather quickly. This year we got a permit. We're so responsible. I guess that's what happens when you get older.
What about everyone else? Any fun plans?

it sounds like you both have quite an undertaking in your future. everything that you plan on doing sounds great. i especially like the idea of exposing the brick on the wall leading up the stairs. i think that would look so great there. yay. good luck with all of that.
this weekend i went boating for the first time since i was like 6. i had an amazing day, though it sorta felt like walking through pudding in the shallow areas. blech. i tried waterskiing for the first time ... i hurt myself. i got drunk, got sunburned, water-tubed but i didn't get seasick. hurray for me.
miss you guys.
