I'm going to split this weekend story into 2 posts because its just too much to type. Or perhaps you guys don't really care to read ALL of the sordid details so I'll try to keep things somewhat brief.
This past weekend was my birthday weekend. I have to give a shout out (holla!) to The Mr. for doing a very good job. Friday, he had flowers (orchids!) sent to my desk at work. I'm a sucker for flowers at work. Not only do I enjoy getting fun packages, I like to showcase that my kick ass husband lurves me. Actually, when I saw them I said, "god dammit - I told him not to waste money" but then read the card and the ice on my heart melted a little. Happy birthday! I hope you have a fantastic day on your first birthday as my wife. Aw... puke! I keed. I keed. He later surprised me with dinner at The Bicycle (I've always wanted to try it out). It was delicious and we drank a bottle of wine which led to an early bedtime for the both of us. We're rock stars.
Saturday, we checked out Artscape because I really wanted some f'n funnel cake! So here are some fun photos of the trip:

After a loooong day in the sun, we all went out for Zach's surprise 30th. I'm so proud of us because we really tricked him (especially since it was MY birthday weekend). I'll post pics tomorrow but in the meantime, here are the new items I've added to my list. My god, its really difficult to come up with 101 freaking things. Don't judge me. Some of these are just plain lame:
52. Go on a "Ghost Tour"
53. See a ballet
54. Use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies
55. Try glass-blowing
56. Give a presentation at work
57. Use a power tool to build something
58. Go to a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show
59. See Wicked (the broadway show)
60. Snowboard all the way down a trail (even if it's just the bunny trail!)
61. Take my parents to a museum
62. Get promoted to a higher grade level
63. See the Liberty Bell
64. See Body World exhibition
65. Paint a picture to completion (no stopping because "it sucks")
66. Find a good tailor and get some clothes tailored
67. Plant a plant in the front planter that survives longer than a month
68. Read an entire newspaper
69. Go vegan for a week
70. Buy mace pepper spray and carry it around
71. Change direct deposit to start depositing majority of paycheck into the JOINT checking account!
72. Setup joint checking account to autopay monthly bills (mortgage, BGE, cable, etc.)
73. Build savings account to the point where it could cover three month's worth of expenses
74. Go to 2 museums in Baltimore that you've never been to before
75. Get a new library card (if I'm not still a bandit) and visit the Enoch Pratt library in Highlandtown
76. Update passport
77. Buy myself a nice piece of jewelry (no more waiting for it to be a gift)
78. Professionally reframe grandmother's brooch and update the engraved plaque with her year of death
79. Read 2 professional development books
80. Fill all of the empty wedding frames in the house with wedding pictures
Help me!

Happy belated birthday!!! Sounds like it was a blast, especially with the flowers from the hubby. Awwww...
this might not help you with more things, but i use environmentally friendly cleaning products and man do i feel better as a human being. i looove seventh generation--the quote on the front is from the iroiqois nation of native americans (and i know i spelled that wrong) about that they had to consider the next seven generations of their people before they made a decision. i highly, highly, highly recommend. cheaper than mrs, meyers, although that stuff kicks ass too. i had to buy some regular dishwasher detergent (cascade or whatever) in a pinch and i realized how bleachy and chemical-y it smelled... ew. after using the yummy orange and lemon stuff. and the toilet bowl cleaner is mint. awesome!
sorry for the long comments. also... i am almost 27, and i was just thinking about the jump from mid20s to late 20s. eek!
i can'tbelieve i just wrote that much about cleaning supplies. i'm a geek.
happy late birthday!
i'm glad you had a great weekend, hon! :) i love it when your mr. sends me flowers at work too.
