Random Friday Musings

Hola! I'm feeling slightly scatterbrained today and couldn't think of just one thing to write about. I know I do this a lot but you know what? I think its what makes me so damn charming. And I love listing things out. I'm a list-maker. It's my thing.

Things I Want:
I'm a compulsive shopper... whether I'm window-shopping (aka browsing stores on the internet) or actually buying things. My compulsions are acting up again and I have found that I really want lots of new things like:

- Creative ZEN Vision mp3 Player
Isn't it purty? I currently own the iPod Nano. I love it, don't get me wrong, but I'm getting tired of the small storage. Its a fabulous little workout companion so I will never get rid of it but I think its time to find something else.

While I love my iPod Nano, I hate that you have to pay extra for a charger that will connect to a regular electrical outlet. I hate extra things that consumers must buy for stuff that SHOULD ALREADY COME EQUIPPED WITH IT. With that said, I'm searching for an mp3 player with at least 30 GB of storage and I'm trying to find a decent one that isn't an iPod. The Mr. showed me this one and I fell in love.

A Digital SLR camera
This is the Nikon D40x. I'm not saying that I want this specific SLR camera but I know that I want one. I love photography. I love the artistic possibilities one has with such a powerful little gadget. Simply stated, I love it.

Its a bit intimidating, however, to decide between cameras. I've read tons of reviews mostly between Canon and Nikon cameras and have no clue what to choose. Everyone has their own preference. A photographer I work with said that I should read reviews, etc., narrow down my choices and then go to the store and physically hold one. Maybe... but I'm intimidated! I'll feel like such a fake. Oy.

Looking for New Things
So I'm getting a little bored with some stuff... like TV. I know that the summer months bring reruns and filler shows but with the new fall lineup starting, I think I need to start watching something new. Something to get me jazzed up about it.

So far, the shows that I love and have a DVR series recording set for are:
- Lost
- Grey's Anatomy
- 30 Rock
- My Name is Earl
- The Office
- Scrubs
- How I Met Your Mother
- The Biggest Loser (I hate to admit it, but I love this show)

New shows that I dug during the summer:
- Flipping Out
- The Two Coreys
- Scott Biao is 45... and Single
- Design Star
- Life in the Fab Lane: Kimora Lee Simmons

Shows that I generally watch when its on TV but don't necessarily record:
- The Hills
- Any Law & Order
- CSI (Las Vegas... not the others!)


I'm positive that I'm forgetting some stuff, and I've left off all of the wedding shows that I STILL record because I can't get enough. What shows are you into? I don't have the fancy cable stations like HBO or Showtime so please refrain from telling me that I.must.watch.Weeds. Or Entourage. I get it. I'm not in the know. And wow, I watch a lot of TV, huh?

Things that Annoy Me
- People who EXPECT gifts.
- People who don't send Thank You notes upon receiving expected gifts for special occasions like engagement parties, bridal showers, weddings.
- People who think that I am the spokesperson for all asians.

There are stories behind each one and I'll share them for another day especially since the first two are related to this weekend's big plans... a bachelorette party!
