Project Beard

Awhile ago, you may recall that I mentioned that I'm strangely attracted to beards on men. I managed to convince The Mr. that he should try to grow a beard. He wasn't too into the idea but said he'd give it a try once we returned from Puerto Rico (so he could avoid any weird tan lines in case he hated it.

The Mr. has quite a baby face and I asked him to grow a beard out of curiousity to see what it would look like (and too see if it was even possible!). He gets stubble after a day or two of not shaving but then its like the hair stops. It doesn't know what to do. It sits there like Hello? Shave me.

I feel like if I had the capability of growing facial hair, I'd totally experiment with it. Mutenchops, handlebar mustaches, soul patches, etc.

Anywho, Tuesday night the Mr. looked at me and said, "You haven't even noticed." I looked at him and thought, "Noticed what?" and then saw the stubble and remembered my request.

So, without further ado... here is the progress on Day 5 of Project Beard:

I think at this rate, its going to take all winter for him to get a full beard.

I find this to be hilarious because there is a guy in my group who grows a beard every winter. Before I left for Puerto Rico (on a Wednesday), he was clean shaven. When I returned a week later (on a Wednesday), he had a FULL BEARD.

I'll keep you updated.

It's a start :)

I like to keep a little well manicured stubble rather than a full beard.

Haha can't wait to see the progress from now until Saturday! The boy would love to grow a beard I think, but he doesn't grow any hair on his face except for in the goatee area. I am somewhat grateful for this, though, since I get horrible red splotches all over my face and neck if he somewhat as brushes against my face with any stubble!

well, this comment has less to do with your secret desire to be married to zz-top and more a general comment about your blog.

i love how all i have to do is go straight to your blog and there in a nice neat orderly row are links to all the other blogs i like to read. (many of which i discovered through your blog!) you make my life easier, so i thank you for that little ray of sunshine in my day!! :)

CUTE. Needs to clean the neck up a little or he'll look like a dirtbag. But that's kind of hot, too. I think the hair on the back of Factor's neck grows faster than the hair on his face. Just a tidbit for you.

ha, project beard! looks pretty good so far! i don't know if that would work with drew. his hair grows mostly above his lip and no where else...so he looks like a middle schooler trying to look like a high schooler.

I'm with you. I'm strangely attracted to a man with a beard too. But I have to agree with Jamie, I don't want a man with a "grizzly adams" beard, it's got to be kept neat and trim.

I'm more of a no-facial hair kinda girl, but I did let Brent toy with not shaving while we were on vacation. He could only handle it about 4 or 5 days before it became too much for him and he got rid of it.

i, personally, am into guys with little to no facial hair. i don't mind the soulpatches or the goattees, but full beards? no thanks. i do like that thin layer of 1-2 days growth .. that's kinda hot. but, i doubt there's much to detract from the mr.'s hotness, so i say, "go for it, you bad boy!"

Shave the cheeks and the mustache and just keep the neck. I've never seen someone successfully pull off a neck-beard, but I think J-Sexy might be just the one to do it...
