First, I decided to go with Pantene's Beautiful Lengths over Locks of Love for several reasons:
(1) Pantene only required 8 inches where LoL wanted 12!
(2) I read a few negative things about LoL.
(3) I like the idea that Pantene's program is geared towards all women afflicted with cancer (and not to sound lame, I hold a soft spot for this since my granny died of breast cancer). LoL is only for children and while I fully support children, I hate the idea of ignoring all other women.
and this was an afterthought...
(4) The hair salon actually encouraged that I donate to another organization. Apparently they had a sort-of issue with LoL in the past. One of their stylists was to cut and style a wig for a child and the organizer from the hospital mentioned that they originally tried to get a wig from LoL but that their people were a-holes and kind of pushed them off. They went through the American Cancer Society.
Okay, blah blah blah... right? I had The Mr snap a few photos of my hair the morning before I went to cut it but I haven't uploaded them yet and they're really not that exciting. So I tried to search around for photos that have been uploaded with my hair down and that was quite difficult, let me tell you. I rarely wore my hair down. It feels yucky. So this is one of the best that I could do. I'm "fighting" with Carlo (or Mr. Yuck if you look at Maria's flickr pics):
I'm not even sure if this picture does my hair justice but it was ridiculously long. I had grown it out for the wedding and declared (like most newlywed women) that I was going to immediately cut it after the wedding. But then I thought that perhaps I should wait and donate it. Aaaaannnddd... I was just too lazy to go to the salon.
So, here is a really bad photo of me this morning in my cube (that I took with my new LG Voyager!):
Its still pretty long and that's what I wanted. The older I get, the less I want to fuss with it. It needs to be ponytail-able. Amazingly, I had cut off 10 inches and its still this long.

Holy crow! I didn't realize your hair was that long!
What a great way to help someone out!
Hair looks cute :)
Wow good for you for donating! And the cut looks good.
Holy shit. You have more hair after getting rid of 8 inches than I do now! You should be super proud of doing such an awesome thing!
Woh! Your hair WAS super long! And you still have tons left! Very cool of you.
LOOOVE IT!! when i first met you years ago, your hair was short like this...and i remember thinking it was really cute!

The new 'do looks great!!
You look really annoyed in the pic :)
HOLY CRAP! You look awesome! I'm not shocked that you look awesome, but you look awesome. It has exposed your pretty little face to the world. And look at your eyes.
I think i'm in love.
I love the new cut! That length looks great on you! Although you don't look very happy in the picture. What's up with that? :)
Wow! Your hair WAS really long! I love the new 'do! Good for you for donating it, too!
love the hair!!! i am gonna be truthful and say that isn't the best picture you have ever taken.... you look a bit constipated. but the hair is wonderful!! that is awesome that you were able to donate and are still able to pull it back!
also, FRB, or fat rat bastard, is actually the preferred term to use, though MR. Yuck will work as well. FRB is just really easy to say!!
Hello!! Nanette linked to you over at my blog because I just posted yesterday that I'm planning to donate my hair to Pantene and she mentioned that you just cut yours for the very same campaign! Your hair looks great! I have about 2 more inches to go, but I can't wait to get it cut. Like you, I grew mine out for my wedding too and I figured I would just keep growing it so that I could donate it. Anyway, sorry for the long comment but just wanted to say hi :)
