A random topic came out Saturday night about how allowing your pets to sleep in bed with you generally takes a negative toll on your sex life with your partner. Do you agree?
Its tough when you're feeling frisky to stop what you're doing to put the dogs in their kennel. Talk about a mood killer. Its even worse when you hear them whining while you're mid-coitus!
One girl mentioned that they keep their dog in the room. I was horrified to hear this but I don't think its uncommon. Is it? I just know that our dogs would hop into bed and start licking our legs only making the whole experience very very very VERY creepy.
So - do you let your pets sleep in bed with you and your partner?
If yes,
- Has it affected your sex life?
- What do you do with your pet(s) when you're trying to get your freak on?
- Would you be okay letting your pet(s) stay in the room while you're boinking?
(I'm pretty sure The Mr's head is exploding with mortification at this post)

I only have cats (and I've only had sex...like...once? since I've had them. Yay, single life and all.) but I lock them out of the bedroom. It kills me when one of them sticks their little paw under the crack at the bottom. Mood-killer.
First off, are you aware that you used the words "coitus" and "boinking" in one post? What the hell? Haha.
Pets get pretty defensive when they're unceremoniously tossed out of a room. An ex's dog chewed through the door frame trying to get in. I thought it was pretty damn funny. Not my house, not my problem.
Another ex, who I tragically ran into on Saturday night, insisted on letting one of her dogs stay in the room on several occasions. I don't know why I allowed that to happen, because it's incredibly awkward.
When my girlfriend now is over, the dog is in his crate with the "nighttime blanket" pulled over it.
Aside from that, I usually don't let my dog sleep in bed with me. He is a sleep-farter unlike any other dog, or person, I've ever seen.
Our pup does not sleep in bed with us. She is actually no longer allowed on the bed, as we've gotten her her own big bed that's in the bedroom. We normally have to kick her out of the room because otherwise she just barks. She responds the same way to us singing, tickling eachother or play wrestling. She also doesn't like our voices raised. I think in all of these instances, she thinks something is wrong!
yes my weiner dog sleeps in our bed, and it totally affects our sex life. We usually put her on the ground, and then put up with having her scratch against the bed. She's extremly short, so its not like she could ever get on the bed. That little runt is persistent though, thats when I usually tazer her....
oh, or kick her down the stairs.....
the only animal in my bed is Factor.
ooo great topic! i have 2 cats and they ARE NOT allowed in the room during sex bc they will jump on the bed and investigate. at clancy's house he has 2 dogs. they've stayed in the room before, but it's weird - usually we let them roam the house. lol
We have to put our dog in his crate when it's time for you know what. Although I must admit that I believe that we have decided against it on more than a few occasions because we did not want to banish the doggy from the bed. Sad, I know.
We do NOT let our dog sleep in the bed. Sometimes he'll be sleeping on the floor in the bedroom, but that's it. If he's awake and energetic, we kick him out and shut the door.
I also hear TV in the bedroom is a mood-killer.
Our cats always seem to know the difference between throwing them off the bed for sleep and throwing them off the bed for "Mommy & Daddy" time. If we're shooing them for sleep they just jump right back up. If it's for the other, they stay away. It's kind of eerie.
I'm not a pet person, but I was pretty sure that if I ever had a pet, it would not be allowed in my bed at all, and certainly not in the room during those "special" times.
Your leg-licking image sealed the deal for me.
Let the animals join in! It will spice things up.
downstairs bathroom w/ some peanut butter in her kong toy. It takes her far longer to get through than a treat..if she finishes before we do, she's downstairs and harder to hear her bark...
but i do admit it's sad to banish her to the bathroom...make him do it :)
Ditto doahleigh!
I'm allergic to animal hair. If there was a dog in the same room as me there is a chance I could die (or more likely pass out)
If this happened while I was getting my freak I'm pretty sure the missus would say that would affect the performance (I hope she would say that :D ha)
Ha ha! Our chihuahua sleeps in bed with us. We don't let her on the bed during sex, but she has free range of the room. She usually just trots right on out into the living room, so it's never really an issue.
No pets for us, but if we had them, they wouldn't sleep in the bed at all.
It would be supremely creepy to have your pets eyeballing you while you hump each other. I don't think they really like US watching THEM either while they're at it. That's why breeding programs in the zoo are difficult to start...
I had to laugh at the Labels or Tags you have to that post 'Pets', 'Sex'... sounds pretty kinkay!
