B is for...

Bathroom etiquette.

If you work in an office, I'm sure you're aware of the plight of bathroom etiquette. This definitely doesn't apply to your home life unless you're a person who NEVER replaces the roll of toilet paper onto the holder.

Annnywho...

Aside from your usual don't pee on the seat, always wash your hands and always flush the toilet when you're done, there are a few things that I think are still unspoken rules of the room that everyone should follow:

1. Don't hold long conversations IN the bathroom even if you're just washing your hands. The room echos, people pee and poop in there AND there could be a nervous pee-er just waiting for you to get the f out. If you must chat, take it OUTSIDE of the bathroom.

2. While you can exchange polite hellos, once a person enters into the stall and closes the door the conversation should CEASE. This one blows my mind. I went into the bathroom last week with a Chatty Cathy following close behind and she just kept gabbing. I figured she'd stop once I shut the stall door but she didn't. AND she was asking me questions! I didn't know what to do. Do I pee? Do I continue talking with my pants around my ankles? What if she thinks I'm pooping?!

3. Don't talk on your cell phone in the bathroom. Is your call really that important? And ew - you're exposing your phone to excrement. You may wash your hands but you're not washing that phone! Gah-ross.

4. While I'm sure there are times when its difficult to get the poop out, if there are people in the bathroom... save your theatrics. Nobody needs to know who number 2 works for.

5. Wash your hands. Okay, I know I already mentioned it but its really disturbing to see the amount of women that don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom. WASH YOUR HANDS!

I HATE when people hang out in the bathroom to chat. And I can always tell when there's a nervous pee-er or pooper in there because I don't hear anything happening while I'm washing my hands - so I respect that by hurrying my butt out of there - besides, I don't really want to hear their pee or poo so why would I dilly dally!

My hands get and stay extremely cold all the time so washing my hands used to annoy me...like adding ice to the freezer (um cold version of fuel to the fire?) so now I'm very thankful that they have installed hand sanitizer pumps in my bathrooms...now I stay sanitized and my hands stay as warm as they possibly can :)

But yes, don't effing talk to me in the bathroom..please.

I hate pee-talkers!!
I suffer from stage fright from time to time and I don't appreciate having to carry on a conversation!

Another thing that annoys me is people leaving newspapers in the stalls...like I want to touch a newspaper that has been sitting by the crapper...no thank you!

Amen, sista! We also have a mystery woman who uses our bathrooms but insists on leaving her paper towels on the sink instead of placing them in the trash a foot and a half away. WTF?

SO TRUE for all of this. But especially the phone one... There is one lady at work - does that ALL THE TIME. I can't imagine what the person on the other end thinks, as there are def flushes to be heard in the background...

When I hear people on the phone in the stall next to me, I make it a point to gas it up as loud as possible. Do you think I wait until they're off of the phone to flush? Hell, no!

And what's up with people pulling their pants down to their ankles? Does everyone do that? I'll be in a stall and see pants and a belt and a visible ID badge laying on the floor. Hey, looks like so-and-so is in the stall next to me!

What are you doing over there? I always push the pants to the end of my knees. I don't want my pants laying on the floor where everyone's pee lays and dries up. Blahhh!!!

it's amazing how nasty some people are at work. it makes you wonder if they have the same bathroom habits at home. hopefully i will never get invited to their homes.....
