Where Did Everyone Learn to Spit?

I'm still sick. My body doesn't feel completely zapped of energy anymore but I still have a sore throat and now I've moved into phase 2: coughing.

The worst part of a sore throat is when you have to cough on top of that. I try to suppress it (despite looking as though I'm constipated) but it never works. And I'm coughing up mucus (and you're welcome for the nice image that popped into your head).

The problem? I can't spit. I mean, I can spit a little, but I've never been about to hock a loogie. NEVER. I've tried. I've tried plenty of times. Believe me - it was all the rage growing up. I was jealous of my friends who could not only hock loogies, but could actually generate so much spit that they could lean over and dangle it out of their mouths for a good 12 inches and suck it back in.

I can't do any of that.

And so I have to swallow my mucus.

And now my farts smell like I died.

Where the hell did everyone learn to spit?

Still Sick

... and I learned that Airborne won't do shit to help me.

I didn't really take it thinking it would cure me. I've always viewed it as a supplement with a ton of vitamin C. Well wouldn't you know, there was a class action lawsuit against the company for making false claims.

I have to agree with Noelle here... never trust a medical product created by a teacher.

I want my $6.99 back!

Health Russian Roulette

This is the first year in a very long time that I've decided I'm not going to get a flu shot. I've never really been a fan of getting a flu shot because I've always subscribed to the belief that killing off a particular germ/virus will only make room for the mutant germs/viruses to grow.

I don't really use Purell or any hand-sanitizer unless I'm left with no options for cleaning my hands based on my belief.

Yeah yeah, it sounds crazy. Just don't tell my mom I didn't get a flu shot. I'll never hear the end of it.

I've also stopped taking Aleve. I've been getting a lot of headaches from staring at a computer screen for 8 hours a day and realized that I was taking too many Aleve pills. I'm powering through the headaches and so far I think it's working out for me.

I'm playing a little Russian roulette with my health right now. I'm saying no to flu shots. No to pain relievers.

And wouldn't you know it? I'm sick. My throat is swollen and it hurts to swallow. I feel like I've been hit by a car.

But - I only purchased Airborne and some throat drops. We'll see how this works out. I hate being sick.

Siiiiiiick

So, this is day 2 of being home from work sick. Actually, I should say its the 2nd and a half day since I had to leave work early on Tuesday due to RUNNING OUT OF A MEETING HALFWAY TO VOMIT.

I don't have a stuffy nose or anything like that. My stomach is just rocking. Yesterday my back was aching, I couldn't eat anything... it was awful. I love food. I love to eat. I was so hungry.

Today I seem to be recovering okay. No more weird stomach pains although I'm not jumping at the chance to eat everything I want to just yet. I don't want to jinx it.

Being sick blows.
