Blurb-tastic!

My head is all over the place right now so this blog will be another random mish-mash of things going on in my life. Its blurb-tastic!

Blurb 1
This is a continuation of Blurb 1 because its still a weekend recap. The Mr. and I (and totally awesome Jamie) helped Theresa move on Saturday. I have to give her lots of credit for being so freaking organized! EVERYTHING was packed away nicely and the boxes were labeled. I wore my best cut-off t-shirt to commemorate her moving to Baltimore (hey - I didn't want a farmer's tan).

After a 2 hour nap, we all went out for Courtney's 7-7-07 bday celebration! We played flip cup with a group of guys who were out for one of the guy's last nights as a "single" man and I had an awkward run-in with a girl I hadn't seen in a long time who felt compelled to tell me that she hooked up with my psycho ex boyfriend (aka douchebag) and asked if I hated her? I had to remind her that I AM MARRIED NOW. I just hoped she didn't catch an STD from douchebag.
The Flip Cup team (we were awesome! And yes, I get that we're all probably way too old to be playing flip cup especially since most of us graduated from college over 5 years ago):

Blurb 2
I love Geoff. Enough said. He's making me a masthead because I'm incapable of making anything creative through the computer and yes, I happen to work in IT. I get the irony.

Blurb 3
I registered for 2 Graduate classes yesterday. Its official. I am going back to school! I also applied for a school loan because I realized that 2 classes is out of the budget (holy hell is it expensive to go to grad school! sheesh).

Blurb 4
I also applied for my work husband's open position on the team. Along the way I discovered that Eric and his wife are the future The Mr. and Mrs.Twink. Even Eric's resume looks like mine (with the prestigious middle initial and everything). Weird.

Blurb 5
Our kitchen is WRECKED. Marshall came over to help The Mr. remove the countertops, sink and cabinets.

Here is what our kitchen looked like before:

Here is our kitchen now:

Ack! I'm DYING over this. We discovered that the previous owners really GLUED everything down hence all the holes in the walls from pulling off the old countertop. We also discovered that the Home Depot sink base is NOT a 1/2 inch too tall. The cabinets actually sit a 1/2 inch lower than the laminate floor. How convenient for us!

And then we had THIS surprise:

What's that, you ask? They were damp spots under the sink base cabinet... that smelled an awful lot like DOG URINE.

Blurb 6
I was awoken for the second time this morning to the sound of buzzing. I was first woken up by my dog, Petie, who apparently spent the morning yakking. Fun stuff.

Anywho - I woke up to buzzing. My head popped up as did Emily's (my other dog). It was coming from the behind the blinds of the window by the bed. I opened the blinds but couldn't see anything (since I didn't have my contacts in thus making me legally BLIND). I just smacked the window in a few places with a book. The buzzing stopped. After putting in my contacts and going back into the room, I heard the buzzing again. I opened the blinds and revealed one of the creatures from Pan's Labyrinth:

I hope it wasn't coming to tell me that I'm the princess of some magical underworld because I definitely smushed it with a book. Crap.

You decided to take 2 classes?? Which classes? Just be prepared for the reading. You'll do fine.

Btw - you're never too old for flip cup or beer pong for that matter.

Who did run into while you were out? Anyone I would know?

I wouldn't sweat the kitchen situation. It will turn out fine. Hey, and maybe sometime you'll invite me over so I can check it out. hint hint. :)
