I mean, who doesn't sleep with their dog? Okay, a lot of people don't but we do. I was trying to find a picture of Buttons, the little dog in a doggie wheelchair, but couldn't find any. Do yourself a favor and watch this movie.
Angry:
I don't like her. She came by our house 2 years ago for the home visit and said that we weren't good candidates because we were gone for long periods of time, didn't have a big yard and our stairs were too steep. The NC rep LOVED us and we got P & E. Anywho - I e-mailed her to see if we could set up a little meeting between P & E and the new dog and she got a bit snippy asking, "what's the point? Adult dogs don't play." Well excuuuuuse me. The Mr. explained further that it takes E some time to get used to a new dog and we wanted to see if they were compatible. This was her response:
I would prefer to put William with another easy-going dog like himself. Your bonded pair could potentially gang up on him. He is too small and frail. Also, I don't want to put him in a home where there may eventually be children.
I totally understand the concern of introducing a new dog to a bonded pair. I am FINE with that. What pisses me off is the assumption that we're going to have children. Why? Because we're young and married? And to DENY us based on an assumption?! I am beyond furious. So I said F them, its a shame because we really do love our dogs, and we're going with a local rescue.
So [contractor] calls me at 6:45 A.M and says “Carmen do you have a facebook page?” I thought to myself how odd is this because [co-worker] just sent me an e-mail on FB on Friday? I thought my page was private…or not? Anyway so I proceeded to say, why yes I do y? She then proceeds to tell me that though my page is PRIVATE, my FB name is questionable and from an HR perspective I might want to change my privacy settings or change my name. So immediately after I hung up the phone with her I shut my freakin FB page down!
Therefore, on this day, September 10, 2007 Carmen ‘Icanthelpitifyourmanwantsme’ has been laid to rest.
I understand that if you're stating that you're an employee of a specific company and then post pics or tell stories of getting drunk or doing drugs... its a problem. Its the reason they banned MySpace at work. But when you're being searched on by name just because you happen to work here and they find you... do they have a right to call you out on it?! This pisses me off!
Paranoid:
How will The Mr. identify me if I were beaten to death? I thought I needed some identifying mark like a little tattoo on my wrist or the base of my neck. His response? "What if they cut off your hands or head?" Seriously?! Does he never want me to sleep again? He said he could identify me by a scar on my arm and the gigantic face-eating mole on my back. Phew! But think about it. How would someone identify your body if your face was unrecognizable?
Seriously folks... what's wrong with me? Did everyone have a good weekend?

that movie looks like it might be good, but i am a sucker for movies like that. i'll call you up if i start sobbing and cry in your ear.
omg ... she actually said she doesn't want to put him in a home where there will eventually be children? um, discrimination, much? bitch. you need to talk to HER supervisor and tell them that she's been a complete asshole from moment one. ugh.
i have a way that you can get an identifying mark on ya ... have the mr. brand your ass with a symbol of his choice ... something very uncommon that will easily identify you ... good idea? ok, let me know how that goes.
I can't watch movies that make me cry, I'm one of those women who has the "ugly cry" face. And you're right, most people sleep with their pets -- both of my cats sleep on the bed with me at night. I can't believe that woman gave you such a hard time and was so critical and judgmental. Poo on her!
The military has a clever way of putting that they're snooping into your personal lives -- they call it "intrusive leadership." I know! It's sounds awful but they claim that it's a good thing to know almost EVERYTHING about the people who work for you. I tend to disagree. When I'm not at work, as long as I'm not committing any crimes or bringing disrespect to the Navy, they have absolutely NO business prying into my personal life. Okay, I'm off my soapbox now.
