Post Traumatic Wedding Syndrome

So I read a very funny post on WeddingBee this morning authored by a groom. You can read the whole post through the link but this was the part that made me laugh out loud:

Just so you know the symptoms for PTWS, here they are:
- She'll say during the honeymoon, "I have this urge to plan something... doesn't it feel like we have something to do right now?"
...
- She'll encourage all her friends to get married, just so she can "hand down" all the binders of wedding stuff
- She'll be first to volunterr to help out ANY wedding even though you recall during your own that she said "I WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN, I CANNOT WAIT TIL IT'S OVER"
- You'll see wedding shows from TLC recorded on your DVR
...
- Although she vowed to donate her wedding dress or sell it on ebay, for some reason it still lingers in your house like a ghost. LIKE A GHOST.
- She'll create 50 photobooks of the wedding

I only included the bullets of things I STILL DO. And I definitely made the vows of donating my dress (its on my 101 list!) and never wanting to do anything wedding related again. I can't help it! I thought about removing the series recordings of "Bridezillas" and "Married Away" from the DVR but I.can't.do.it. I love it. I admit it. I'm a wedding junky!

I mean I still read WeddingBee for christ's sake! I need help.

I forwarded it to The Mr. who found it equally hilarious and he said he's going to start executing this remedy (recommended in the post):
when she falls asleep whisper “the wedding is over, the wedding is over, the wedding is over” like 1000x times

And you know it doesn't help when people want to watch the DVD or see the albums! Even worse is that I still pick things apart or wish, "man, I should have gotten THAT dress, or THAT photographer, or THAT venue for the wedding..." and I dream of planning a renewal of vows ceremony.

A renewal of vows. You read that correctly.

Actually, I'd like to go to Vegas for our 1-year anniversary to have the ceremony I've always wanted to have! Who's with me? The Mr. needs convincing! Little White Wedding Chapel, here we come!

Hahahhahah!! That was good. I vowed that I would never be one of THOSE brides who dispense unsolicited wedding advice. And now I'm doing it. (Note to self: Just shut up! It's over! No one cares about my wedding! They're saying all the same things about me I said about everyone who did it to me! Gah!)

Forget the hater nation! Keep your wedding stuff if you want to. (Please tell the Mr. don't kill me for saying this) Plus you can keep it around because I know I'll need it for my many weddingS. I've come to the conclusion that I'll probably be like one my all-time favorite fashion icons, Liz Taylor. I love her! LOL

oh man, that's hilarious. just the other day i actually passed over "Platinum Weddings" and "Whose Wedding is it Anyway"...i didn't even peek at the channels, it was crazy! it felt liberating in a way. although, i know after a couple weeks i'll be watching them again...but for right now, i'm enjoying the peace and quiet. once we get our professional pics, i'll probably be all gung ho again. speaking of pics, you never sent me any of yours. i wanna see!
