Why is it that, while I've been busting my ass at work (to potentially avoid lay off or to at least get a decent year end review), the 5 minute break I take from spreadsheets and documentation to look at a pretty dresses online is the EXACT moment a manager walks by my desk?!
I feel like screaming, "I know you see me looking at clothes online, but look at my documentation! Look at all this work I've completed! I'm productive, I swear!"
YARG!

Murphy's Law. It ALWAYS happens that way. And it's so frustrating.
I hate that phenomenon too!
That happens to me all the time. I'll be working on a big project all day, then I'll take a second to check my gmail and boom - my manager is standing behind me. Never fails.
Only surf the Internet when you know where you boss is. You need to have a better sense of your surroundings and have that quick-triggle toggle ability.
At least you're not surfing porn like you used to do.
I hate when that happens! Argh...
That's why I volunteered to design the office layout when we got a new hire, so I could make sure that my monitor faces the wall. Because yeah, that's bound to happen.
