The motherf'er CANCELLED on me! I hate this flooring guy.
He tried to tell me some sob story about how his wife left him and his world is crumbling. I'd love to believe this except that I brought up the fact that he told The Mr. that his house was broken into on Monday and he brought his family with him to do the initial estimate 2 weeks ago. Hhmm... seems like someone is LYING.
I fumbled him in his lie when I brought up the broken Monday appointment, yelled for a bit and managed to get him to "promise" to come tomorrow to do the job AND to knock down the estimated price he gave us.
We'll see.
If he doesn't follow through - does anyone have any suggestions on how we can get our $150 deposit back? He's already cashed the check.

You should send the Muscle... Not really sure what that means, but it works in the movies...
Do you know where he lives??
We could send the gay mafia...he'll wish he never f'ed with you!! Unless he's into that...wait...is he cute?? :)
1. Contractors do this all the time. They lie, they take your money and be glad that it's only $150 you're talking about. The guy I hired to re-do my bathroom must have rushed his mother to the hospital no less than 4 times, and each time it was the night before he was to begin work on my place and there was hammering going on in the background of the "hospital."
2. Call the Better Business Bureau or do a search for how to report fraudulent contractors. I would call him back and tell him that "the Better Business Bureau suggested I call you again and..." That may get some action out of him.
3. I would be happy to put my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training into application. Just tell me the degree of injury you desire. My services range from rendered unconscious to hideously disfigured.
